One line in Code Injection
Squarespace has a place for exactly this. Paste one line into Code Injection, save, and the chat is on every page of your site.
- On every page. It sits in the corner you choose, bottom left or bottom right, in the colour you pick.
- Nothing else to install. No extension and no second account inside Squarespace. The line is all there is.
- On the plans with code injection. Squarespace includes it in Core, Plus and Advanced, and in some older plans.1

Every step, from the first page to the pasted line, is in the Squarespace setup guide.
It looks like your site
The bubble takes your site's font and your colour, in light or dark, so it reads as part of your page.
- Name and logo. They start as your site's name and icon. Change either.
- Language. It speaks your site's language and every word can be customised.
- Phones. On a phone the chat opens full screen.

Each chat gets its own topic in your team's Telegram
Every chat opens a topic in your team's Telegram group, with a lead card on top, so everyone sees it and one person picks it up.
- The lead card. The page and item they were looking at, where they came from, how often they've visited, and any earlier chat.
- Claim, Won, Lost. Tap Claim, or just reply, and the chat is yours. Won or Lost closes it.
- Read receipts, both ways. React to their message and they see "Seen by" and your name. You see when they've read your reply.
The whole loop, step by step, is on the homepage.

- HomeThe week in numbers, who is at the desk, and today's chats.
- AnalyticsConversations, first reply and thumbs up, by page and by person.
- CustomizeHow the bubble looks, what it says and how it behaves.
- ConnectionTurns green once the bubble has been seen on your site.
When nobody is free
When nobody is free, the bubble says so and asks the visitor where the reply should go.
- The ways to reply. WhatsApp, Telegram, email, Instagram or Messenger, whichever you switch on. Your team writes to them from its own account.
- Hours and auto-away. Set your business hours, and tap I'm available or I'm away in Telegram. Anyone quiet for 45 minutes is marked away.
A person writes every reply. The greeting and the away note are words your team sets.

Human Reply, a chat suite, or a messenger button
There are three kinds of chat you can add to a Squarespace site. Each one is a line of code; they differ in where the conversation happens.
| Compared | Human Reply | A chat suite | A messenger button |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it's added | One line in Code Injection1 | The vendor's script, in Code Injection too1 | A widget's code, pasted the same way2 |
| Where the conversation happens | On your page, both ways, files included | On your page | In the messenger's app, off your site2 |
| Where the team answers | Your team's Telegram group, a topic per chat | The vendor's own inbox and apps | The messenger account the button opens |
| What you pay for | The site: $12 a month, the whole team included | Often each person who answers | A free plan, and paid ones for more2 |

Questions
- How do I install Human Reply?
- Press Get started and type your site's address. Setup opens in your browser, five guided steps in about ten minutes. Its last page gives you one line: paste it into the Footer field of Squarespace's Code Injection panel and save. Every step is in the Squarespace setup guide.
- Do visitors need Telegram?
- No. They chat on your site. Only your team uses Telegram.
- Do I need a Telegram Business account?
- No. A regular Telegram group with Topics and a bot you make in BotFather. Setup walks you through both.
- Which Squarespace plan do I need?
- One with code injection: Core, Plus or Advanced, or an older plan that has it. Squarespace's help lists them.
- Which pages is the bubble on?
- Every page of your site, in the corner you choose. Squarespace doesn't run added code on its checkout pages, so the chat isn't there.
- Does it work on a custom domain?
- Yes. It works on your own domain and on your built-in squarespace.com address.
- Does it slow my site down?
- No. The bubble fetches its settings in the background, so your page doesn't wait for it.
- What happens when nobody is free?
- The bubble says so and asks where the reply should go: WhatsApp, Telegram, email, Instagram or Messenger, whichever you switch on. Your team writes to them from its own account.
- How much does it cost?
- $12 a month per site, or $10 a month billed yearly. The first seven days are free.
- Is Human Reply made by Squarespace?
- No. Human Reply is made by Hella Fast, LLC, and isn't affiliated with Squarespace.
- How do I remove it?
- Delete the line from Code Injection and save: the chat leaves your site at once. Your conversations stay in your Telegram group. To end the plan, cancel from Plan & billing in the dashboard.
